Search the Web

In general this web page is in German and Czech. Below is a short summary in English. I’m looking for somebody who could translate the texts into English, as there are researchers in North America interested in Laufersweiler genealogy. If you are interested in translating the text, please contact me.

This web page presents the results of the genealogic research of the Laufersweiler and Svihalek families, and also of some in-married lines like Manz, Sauer, Harlfinger, Mauer, Mueller, Jonczy, Brezina and others.

The research results are representing the state of knowledge during 1995. I'd appreciate further information, corrections and additions.

The main text is on the page is Familienchronik Laufersweiler. It describes the Laufersweiler history from the oldest findings during the late 1600s, the emigration from western parts of Germany to Galizia (today Ukraine), and emigration later all over the world, including different continents. The page Stammtafeln includes the most important family trees, which reach up the 30-years war in Europe. The family trees are in Acrobat (pdf) format.

The genealogy of the in-married Svihalek family is based on the handwritings of Viktor Svihalek, written in Czech.
